As you should (hopefully) know, I have been reviewing my months. I feel like whenever I look back on the year, I can only remember the big things I have done, and I don't really remember the small things. So, how has March been for me?
March has been a bit of a mixed bag for me. In terms of uni work, there's nothing major to talk about. I picked my subjects for second year, so all going well, I should be studying marketing and economics in second and third year, and graduating with one of the two, or both. I have had a few class tests, which is good as it gives me a chance to get everything sorted for exams and a chance to review what I already know. As I was saying last month, I had a lot of group essays and presentations to do, which I hated, as most of the people in my groups are feeling demotivated due to the time of year it is, and so don't try as hard.
The snow that came at the start of the month really hit hard. Uni was cancelled for three days, and so I didn't do much uni work for those three days. I did watch "To Rome With Love" though - I have to say it wasn't the best Woody Allen film I've seen, but it was easy watching and distracted me from the snow outside for two hours!
I read a lot this month too, I finished Around the World in 80 Days by Michael Palin, and then I started reading The Lost City of Z. The Lost City of Z is such a lovely movie that makes me feel so happy and warm inside about the life of Percy Fawcett, and I'd highly recommend it. It's a book that you can't put down and forget about for a few days though, so I'm going to try and read it every single evening instead of spending an hour mindlessly scrolling through Twitter, probably in the summer when I'm less busy. I also bought As Old as Time, which is a Disney Twisted Tale, which I think I'll leave for when I go on holiday to the Dominican Republic to read. I'm currently 4 chapters into White Teeth by Zadie Smith, which I have been reading for half an hour before bed each night.
One of my family members is sick and is in the hospital, which is something I don't really want to get into, but I had to take a day off work. I spent that day with my sisters and it was a nice day, I love spending time with them.
I also dyed the blonde parts of my hair purple. It was just semi permanent so it's fading, but I absolutely love the burst of colour and I'd definitely considering getting it done permanently after my holidays! I decided that I wanted a change, and if I wanted to do it I might as well just do it. I'm trying to apply that mentality to my life - if I want to do something, just do it and don't pay attention to what others around you have to say.
I booked to go for afternoon tea with my mum next month, and me, my mum and my sister went to the ballet to see Swan Lake in Edinburgh! It was lovely and I'm so excited to one day go back to the ballet. I also went to a cinema in the West End of Glasgow with my dad to see The Royal Tenenbaums (which is in my top favourite Wes Anderson films). We went to Wagamama before and I had a chicken katsu curry which I always have when I have Japanese food. I had a lovely day out with my friends, Chloe and Kirsty, and we went to Pizza Express for dinner and then to Wetherspoons for drinks afterwards. I'm so excited to go on holiday with them! Me and Francesca have been looking more into when I go to Italy and what I'm going to do there - and she's been looking at what her and her friend will do when they're here!
Favourite film of March: I, Tonya. It was so interesting to hear about what happened from Tonya Harding's perspective. I really like ice skating, and once I heard about this case (as I wasn't born in 1994), I instantly thought it was a conspiracy and Tonya obviously knew, but now the film has slightly changed my perspective on the situation! My favourite song this month has either been The Violet Hour by Sea Wolf or Salvatore by Lana Del Rey.
All in all, I think March was quite good for me, the only bad thing that's causing me loads of stress is uni! How was your month?
Thanks for reading,

On Friday, I ordered the Makeup Revolution foundation and concealer. You know, the one that's meant to be a dupe of Tarte Shape Tape and the best concealer you'll ever get your hands on?
I wanted to see if it'd live up to its hype - so I ordered the concealer and the foundation directly from the Revolution Beauty website as the concealer and foundation are both out of stock at my local Superdrug. I ordered the shade C3 as on the website it said this shade has pink undertones for pale skin. The foundation cost me £5 and the concealer was £4 - absolute madness to get two base products for under £10.
I'm in awe of the packaging, it's so pretty and Instagrammable. I love that both products are chunky - I hated the Maybelline Fit Me! concealer because the bottle was so slim and the wand was so small, but I don't have that problem with these. But being pretty is one thing, what matters is the performance. So, how do they do?
I feel like everyone and their mum knows the Makeup Revolution concealer is amazing - I sort of hoped I'd be let down by this just because everyone is raving about how amazing it is - and everyone's right. I don't use concealer in my laughter lines so I can't say if it creases there or not - but it only creased a bit under my eyes. I have very deep lines under my eyes and the creasing was minimal come 7pm when I wiped my makeup off.
The concealer has a very creamy formula and it feels so moisturising on the skin! The top swatch is the concealer and then at the bottom I've blended it in - you can't see it that well, proving it's a perfect match for me. The one thing that I was let down by (even then, not massively) was the coverage. From reading blog posts and watching videos about it, it was touted to be super full coverage, and it just isn't. I hate full coverage concealers as I find them really difficult to blend in, but if you like them then that may be a factor to consider.
Now, onto the foundation. The foundation had its pros and its cons. A positive to it was the fact that its in a stick form. I personally love this, as it uses less product and reminds me of when I was younger and would steal my mum's panstik from her makeup bag. Unfortunately, that's where the pros end. It's not a bad product by far, but it clings to dry patches that I didn't even know I had. It also dries fast on your face, but transfers very easily. It's quite hard to blend if you're not using your fingers (I used a stipple brush AND a beauty blender to make it look decent, and honestly I don't have that sort of time in the morning. I will use this again, as I hate feeling like I've wasted money (I'm on a student budget here, in the words of Tesco "every little helps"), but I'd only use this for days where I have more time to get ready.
My top two swatches are the concealer and the bottom swatch is the foundation. My shade is C3 in both products.
Have you ever tried the Makeup Revolution concealer or foundation?

I love makeup more than anything, and just after Valentine's day I done this cute pink eyeshadow look! This look was inspired heavily by this video so if you want to see how I achieved this look then I would suggest following that!
I love anything pink - I think pink makeup looks suit me the most and are just my all-time faves to do! This look was intended as a "Valentines" makeup look - but it was about a week after Valentines Day that I done it, and also I would wear this any day of the year.
Even though I do love pink and it is not uncommon to see me sporting a shade of pink on my lids, the eyelashes were a tad long for me! I am so funny about eyelashes, I like them to be super long but not too long, and I think these are the KISS Lily lashes (though I'm not 100% sure as I can't really remember!)
The pink headband is something I never wear, I have it for those days where I want my hair out of my face but I don't want to put it in a ponytail or when I'm doing my makeup, but I'm more than often wearing my Minnie Mouse ears when that is the case.
Hope you're all having a great day! Let me know if you enjoyed this type of post!

Today, I thought I'd do a post on why I started blogging. Funnily enough, I don't think it's really something I have ever posted on, but I have to say, blogging has became one of my favourite things to do. (Aside from watching the Kardashians).
I started blogging because I have so much stuff to say that I don't always have the chance to say. I am either really quiet or really loud and hyper, and sometimes when I'm feeling really quiet, I don't want to talk to anyone.
You know those days where you just don't want to talk to anyone and be social? Before I started my blog, I was having one of those days. Except it went on for months. I would say that from about January to May last year was a really tough time for me, I mentally had so much going on, I had college work to do, I was applying for university at the same time, I had family problems to deal with, social issues going on in my friendship group, all while trying to deal with becoming a fully fledged adult.
I mean, things could have been worse, but they also could have been better. And I just wanted a place online where I could talk about what interested me. In many ways, my blog was my place where I could talk about makeup, where I could discuss anything and everything.
If I'm completely honest, I don't think I ever thought for a second that I would keep it running for more than a few months. I've started other blogs in my past, I had one that I kept from when I was fourteen that was hard to read, as all the feelings from that time and place came rushing back to me. But here I am, over a year later, still typing away.
Thank you so much for reading and supporting me on this journey.

I love answering questions about myself (I am conceited af), and so I thought it'd be fun to google "tumblr questions" and answer some questions about yours truly.
1. Sarcastic.
2. There are far too many floating on the internet for my liking, but I also take far too many selfies.
3.I will just do this with Twitter followers, and at the time of writing I currently have 5,752 followers and I am following 5,531 people. Watch me get unfollowed now.
4. That I'm not as funny as I think I am and as a result of this, I hurt peoples feelings.

23. I do.
24. I do but I don't, I think you can look at someone and know they're going to be special to you, but you're not necessarily in love with them.
25. Turn ons: when someone is as sarcastic as me, can make me laugh, kind, fun to be around, muscles!!!
Turn offs: when they're unnecessarily mean, tries too hard to be funny, smokes, isn't nice and if I have a bad gut feeling about them.
26. The Violet Hour by Sea Wolf, California by Delta Spirit, literally any song by Anya Marina, Cosmic Love by Florence and the Machine, Rebellion by Arcade Fire, How by The Neighbourhood, Salvatore by Lana Del Rey, Swan Song by Lana Del Rey, Adore by Ariana Grande and Cashmere Cat and Lofticries by Purity Ring.

35. Irish, Australian and Californian.
Hope you enjoyed reading and getting to know me better!

So, you've accepted your UCAS offer, looked at student accommodation and no doubt, the nerves are kicking in. It's completely normal to feel nervous about such a massive change, and today as I am a week from finishing first year, I thought I'd share some advice that I wish I knew when I started first year!
*I never moved away from home - I already lived in Glasgow and decided to go to university in Glasgow, so I don't have any experiences relating to missing your family or living in halls. However, my first year experience was virtually the same as everyone else's - I went to freshers, I spent 99.9% of my life in the library, I barely had a social life for a few months and I really lived the "typical" student life - complete with Pot Noodles and copious amounts of pizza.*

There was so much I wish I knew when starting first year, and the first thing is that the library will become your second home. Honestly, there were nights I wouldn't come home until 8pm and that was because I spent my entire day in the library. The uni library is my second home.
I really wish I knew that you won't always make best friends on your first day. I literally have about 3 close friends from uni, but even then I wouldn't regard us as super close, and that's okay. I'm not here to make friends, I'm here to become America's next top model.
Bad weeks and days don't define you. You're allowed to have a bad week, a bad day, or even a bad semester. You're also allowed to feel like your subject isn't for you. There's so many days where I've received work back and just scraped 40% and it's made me reconsider my entire life plan and where I'm going, but at the end of the day I'm passionate about marketing, it interests me, and at the end of the day, I'd rather spend four years on a subject that I sometimes-hate-but-the-majority-of-the-time-I-love rather than vice versa, and I think it's so important to view university like that.
I think it's really important to also keep in mind that the marking is pretty harsh, to say the least. For me, coming from college where I passed everything I done, to uni, where my first essay mark was 56% was disheartening to say the least. But, if you're anything like me, this will motivate you just to try harder and harder.
I recommend that you learn to reference properly before starting using whatever referencing style your subject uses. People not being able to reference properly grinds my gears and it's honestly not that hard to do when you get the hang of it. Also, I would suggest reading up a little before you start - I bought the core marketing textbook a few weeks before I started and read the first few chapters, and it helped massively!
Remember, eat healthily, keep up with your core reading and always ask for help if you need it!

I am the worst person ever when it comes to buying things - I overthink purchases and won't buy palettes unless I know I'll use them. For example, when I bought my Violet Voss Holy Grail (still my all-time fave palette), I researched it so much. I needed to know how many matte shades it had in it, what was the pigmentation like? Did it blend well? etc. etc.
I'm not spending my hard-earned cash on a product I won't use. But, I fell in love with this palette. Despite it not having a transition shade and not blending as well as other drugstore palettes, I still had to get it. And got it I did.
In terms of packaging, it actually looks pretty similar to the Violet Voss Holy Grail palette. It has the same holographic exterior. It's really simple but visually appealing and I like that. It also has the same opening as the HG palette, in that there is a magnet or something which shuts the lid. The cardboard feels flimsy and easily breakable, but I suppose that's what you expect from an £8.99 palette.
I am clearly incapable of taking a full photo showcasing all of the colours but the only shade that isn't showing is just a shimmery nude shadow.
The swatches are really pretty, if I'm being fair. Some of them didn't look as similar as they did in the pan, which was disappointing, but some shades were just so pretty, I LOVE.
Overall, I'm undecided if this palette is worth it. I think it's pretty, but I also think the same colours exist in other palettes with better formulas. But, for £8.99, it won't break the bank.
What are your thoughts on this?

Since it's exam season soon, I thought I'd talk to you about how I increase my productivity and how I make sure I stay focused and on my A-game!
Some days I'll wake up and just want to watch Keeping Up With the Kardashians all day, and that is okay in moderation. However, it's important to make that not become a regular occurrence. Instead, what I do, is tell myself if I study for two hours, I've more than earned a Kardashians break.
*Working for two hours straight can burn some people out, so it's up to you to find what works best for you! I personally cannot study for less than an hour at a time, but different strokes for different folks. (It's okay, I also am cringing profusely).
It's always important to give yourself breaks. After a while (this depends massively) I find my mind wandering and I play a game on my phone or I watch an episode of something on Netflix, and then I am able to focus on my work.
I find that listening to music helps me so much when I'm studying (I make sure to listen on my Google home and not on my phone otherwise I'll scroll through Twitter for the 2999382th time that day). My favourite right now is the Midnight in Paris soundtrack, but I have a classical music playlist that I listen to aswell.
If it's one of those days where I completely lack motivation, I look at a "studyblr" or a study Tumblr. I follow so many of these Tumblrs and I find them so useful and inspiring for me to look at. They're also things on Instagram too, I follow a few study Instagrams, but if I go onto Instagram, that's me gone for an hour or so, so I have a look on Tumblr.
Always make sure you're hydrated and have plenty of food when necessary to avoid yourself from burning out too early!
Do you have any tips I've not mentioned? Be sure to let me know!

QUENCH YOUR SKINS THIRST WITH SUPERDRUG'S VITAMIN E RANGE
MY SKIN HAS BEEN SAHARA DESERT DRY THIS WINTER.
As someone who doesn't suffer from the worst dry skin problems out there, I never knew how to deal with dry skin when I woke up with skin that felt and resembled crusty sandpaper. My moisturiser - which is maybe better for summer use when my skin isn't as dry - did nothing to help. It was even getting to the point where I couldn't bear to wash my face as it'd get so dry afterwards and no face moisturiser out there was helping.
Until I discovered these bad boys.
Until I discovered these bad boys.
After work one Sunday, I was desperately trying to find a moisturiser that would help my skin out, then I remembered that I had got on well with Superdrug's own brand skincare. I wanted to find something that was formulated for dry skin - when I spotted the Vitamin E range.
Even the packaging seems smooth and I was so excited to try something out. I ended up picking the Vitamin E Leave On Moisture Mask and the Intense Moisture Cream (as anything with the word "moisture" in it was calling out to me in my hour of need).

I didn't apply anything until after I washed my face for the evening (I need to do an updated post on my night skincare routine), and I applied the moisture cream. It felt like heaven on my face that had been sore and cracked and dry for the last few days. Before I went to sleep that evening I applied the moisture mask as per the instructions, and these both gave my skin the moisture boost I needed.
I have been so impressed with Superdrug own brand skincare products over the past year, and I am so excited to try more of their products and see what works for me!
Honestly, this stuff worked so well for me. When I said my skin was dry, I mean dry af. I had bits of skin flaking it was that bad, but this worked within two days for me. I'd recommend it in a heartbeat to anyone.

I'm off to Berlin and Krakow with two of my friends in June - literally 3 months away! Berlin and Krakow were never places that I particularly wanted to go - they were places I wouldn't turn down but weren't the places I'd choose to go. However, after googling the two places I fell in love with what the two places have to offer. I thought it would be helpful for those of you who also have a little break away planned to see what I suggest doing!
Also, remember to give yourself at least half an hour from getting off the plane to getting the train/bus. I'd also recommend printing out or having a copy of the timetable on your phone so you aren't panicking about not knowing when the train/bus arrives.
Once you're on your way to your hotel, I'd also advise printing out your booking confirmation and having it on your phone. Some hotels can be funny about wanting both so it is always best to be too prepared than not prepared enough!
I'm usually itching to get out of the hotel room into the city, so however you're getting there, make sure you're prepared! You should always know roughly where your hotel is in relation to the city - when I was in Paris my hotel was around the corner from the Eiffel tower, but then I went again and where I was staying required us to take two different Metros to the city centre. Knowing how long it will take you to get to the centre of the city will also help you plan your day better.
I also suggest booking activities before you go. If you're going as a group it's best to book them all together so no one books the wrong thing. There's some activities that you can leave until you're there - but I'd rather know that I'm definitely doing one activity and, depending on how long it is, you can plan your day around it.
My final tip is to have a look at restaurants before you go. Once when I went to Paris, we went to a "tourist trap" restaurant and ended up paying over the odds for our meal. To avoid this happening again, we always check the reviews and average prices of restaurants.
My motto is "you can never be too prepared" especially when it comes to being away from home. I hope these tips were useful and I hope you have a good day!

I usually start by seeing what time I get into the country I'm visiting at and then have a look at train times/airport shuttle times. Remember to always change your dates to the right ones as you could be looking at winter timetables when you need to be looking at summer ones! Also, remember to give yourself at least half an hour from getting off the plane to getting the train/bus. I love natural makeup looks. We all know the feeling when you need a bit of foundation to liven up your lacklustre skin but also don't want to wear a lot of makeup.
I created this full face by using my Seventeen Skin Wow all over my face as a primer, then I used Sleek Lifeproof Foundation which claims to be full coverage, but I feel it is more on the light/medium side. I didn't apply highlight, as I wanted to look as natural as possible, and applied my Nars Orgasm blush, I applied some of my Bobbi Brown bronzer to warm up my face and on my eyelids, and some Milani mascara.
What is your go to makeup look?

This is an idea that I seen Jenny in Neverland do that I thought was so interesting and I decided to jump on the bandwagon! You can read her post here and if you check her posts out, make sure to leave a few lovely comments for her. I love her writing style and her photography is so beautiful!
Reading her post made me wonder what were my top viewed posts in February and all of the posts were posts that I loved writing (can I say posts anymore times tho)! In February, I focused more on 'lifestyle/opinion' type posts and I love it. Those types of posts are my favourite to read and I'm so glad my readers agree.
The first post that had such a high amount of views was a post called 'Take Control of Your Life' and this post was an unplanned post where I talked about feeling rubbish but not letting it control your life - basically telling myself to get my stuff together. I always find personal/rambly posts do the best, and I love writing stuff where I can get everything off of my chest.
I also wrote a post about changing my domain which you can read here. Again, this is a personal post where I just ramble on and make copious Moana references. I think this post done so well because it's relatable and I'm glad as I was a bit nervous about posting it!
This post proved to be popular and I am so happy as I love wring about "conspiracy theories". My posts about conspiracy theories are usually quite popular - which I love as I really enjoy researching them.
I also done a post about my opinion on Valentines Day which was popular - I have no clue why as my reasoning for not liking Valentines Day are quite unorthodox - but here we are. I was also unsure how people would react to this but I think (?) it's safe to assume people enjoyed it.
My final post is one about Primark false nails which I really enjoyed writing!
*This isn't including my February round-up post which you can read here.
Have you ever had a look at your most viewed posts for the month?

I love lipgloss so much, it is so
easy to swipe on and makes you look ten times better!! Side note: red lipstick does the same.
Changes in formula have made it a lot less sticky, so a lot more wearable. Funnily enough, I wore lipstick all the time when I was younger, and then stopped wearing it for literal years and then I got a Soap and Glory lipgloss for my Christmas a few years ago, and ever since then I have been obsessed! I go through periods where I wear lipstick and then periods where I like lipgloss more than anything.
Over the years, I have collected a
fair few lipglosses that I love and have whittled it down to four that I love
and rotate when I feel like wearing lipgloss.
My first one that I love is my Lip Tar from Obsessive
Compulsive Cosmetics. I’m a bit confused by this, because it claims on it that
it’s a primer, but it has an oily texture and is quite glossy. So, I’m not 100%
sure how it can be a primer but I wear it as a moisturising gloss. It has no
colour to it and you can get ones with colour tinted into them! It has a super
moisturising feeling and it is such a nice feeling, it smells really nice which
is also a bonus! It is just a lovely gloss to pop on when your lips feel dry
and it moisturises them.
Next, I got the Soap and Glory
Sexy Mother Pucker lipgloss in the colour ‘Plums Up’ and I love it! When I
first seen the colour, I thought it’d be a really pigmented purple gloss, but
it’s actually really sheer and lovely! I think it’s such a wearable lipgloss
colour, and it’s sheer enough that it gives you a tint with a shine.

From top to bottom: Coral Confession, Peach Cobbler and Plums Up! |
My third favourite is my NYX
Butter Gloss in the shade ‘Peach Cobbler’, and this colour is a lot more
pigmented, and I would say it is like a peach lipstick with a clear gloss over
it. I think this colour is super pretty and is lovely for the days when you
want to look like you’re wearing more makeup than you actually are.
My newest lipgloss that I love is
my Sephora lipgloss in the shade ‘Coral Confession’ which I believe I picked up
for around 8 euros in the sale in Sephora when I went to Milan. Like ‘Peach
Cobbler’, this shade is pretty, pigmented and is so wearable. It feels so great
on your lips and reminds me of sunny, summer days!
Hope you’re having a good day today
guys!!
