why i've not been posting as much

Hi! I've tried to be a bit more consistent with my blog and blogging in general, however I've actually been quite busy!

I went to Italy in the start of July, and I was over there for my 21st (which was exciting and I couldn't think of anywhere better to spend me being actually 'in my twenties'). I've actually wrote a blog post on my first day in Rome - I plan to write about the four days I was in Rome and then about my time in Milan - and the post for my first day in Rome is here.

When I came back from Rome, it was uncharacteristically warm for Scotland - we don't get much of a summer here so anytime it is sunny, it's treated like a national holiday. And so I spent my next wee while in beer gardens with my boyfriend, having nice days out with my family, having barbecues and working when I was able to pick up shifts.

I came back from Rome on the 19th July - my birthday was on the 14th July - and so I had the following weekend off work to celebrate with my friends in Glasgow. On the Friday night, I went for dinner with my close friends which was lovely. Now that we're all adults - one of my friends has graduated and now works full-time and one lives alone so works a lot - we don't get to see each other all the time, so it was nice to be able to see each other as we don't get to as often as we'd like. I had such a nice night with my friends! On the Saturday, I went for dinner with my mum, my stepdad, my sisters and my two grannies came to surprise me! It was such a nice time and I was so glad I got to see my grannies - one lives in Elgin so I don't get to see her all the time - so it was lovely to see my family! On the Sunday, I was really tired, and went to my grans house to see my other grandparents and Max! Because I was so tired, we just had a really relaxed day and later that night my gran took me to the bingo! (I never won).

My boyfriend still hasn't handed in his dissertation yet - it's not due until the end of this week - so any time I did spend with him was either a reward for getting some of his dissertation done, or a distraction away from his dissertation. He's also moving back down to York at the end of the month - where he's originally from (he was just up in Glasgow for uni) - so I've also been a bit in my feelings about that. Honestly, I have fully came to terms with it now and how it's not an elaborate plot to break up with me, but I'd be lying if I said it hadn't taken me a while to feel okay about it. Now that we've fully discussed how often we're going to see each other when he's away, if and when he plans to come back or move a bit closer to me and just the finer details of long-distance, I feel a lot better about it. I'm also going into my third year at uni, (3/4!!!) so the world will also be my oyster when I graduate.

Last week, I stayed at my mums for a week to look after her cat when she was on holiday, and I love the cat more than anything. He came into my room a lot to sleep with me and just is genuinely so sweet. He's 8 years old - so not as high maintenance as a kitten - which I love. My heart is just filled with love for him :(. I had a job interview last week, and I've been invited to a hiring event, and I also applied for an internship in digital marketing, which I got! I've wanted to work in digital marketing for as long as I can remember and I'm just so excited to start.

It was also my boyfriends grad ball last week and getting all dressed up was just so nice. It was lovely to see him with his friends and people from his uni and it got me so excited for my own grad ball! It was in the Radisson Blu in Glasgow and was the nicest night :) It was also our 8 month anniversary at the start of the month which was nice, we don't really celebrate our anniversaries (we celebrated 6 months, and then we will celebrate a year etc.) but it was nice that we've been together for so long. I can remember texting him on our 1 month anniversary. LOOK AT US NOW.

Relating back to dating long-distance, does anyone have any tips on how to do it? Especially because I'll be so busy this year with uni, interning, trying to keep up with my blog and working? I don't have any worries about it anymore, I would just like some advice from couples who have been through it! :) Thanks for reading!!
